Australian Riichi Mahjong Open Online 2021

Players are invited to register for our premier online tournament in January 2021.
This tournament is free to enter.

Update: We have reached our cap of 28 registered players. If you are interested feel free to join the waitlist because we will consider adding more seats (in groups of 4) once the list fills up

Schedule
Preliminary Hanchan 1-4 – Saturday 9th January 7pm AEDT
Preliminary Hanchan 5-8 – Sunday 10th January 7pm AEDT
Top 8, Top 4 Playoffs – Sunday 17th January 7pm AEDT

Format
All players will play 8 preliminary hanchan.
Seating for the prelininary rounds will be pre-determined by a draw in advance.
After 8 hanchan, Top 8 will enter the playoffs.
For Top 8, there will be a 2 hanchan match between 4 players with top 2 players from each semi-final entering the finals.

1st place – $100 Amazon AU gift card + trophy
2nd place – $50 Amazon AU gift card + trophy
3rd place – $25 Amazon AU gift card + trophy
4th place – $25 Amazon AU gift card + trophy

Rules
This tournament is open to Aus/NZ/ARMA members only
All hanchan will be played on Tenhou
We will use WRC rules (as best implemented on Tenhou – screenshot of rules will be provided)
All players are required to be on the ARMA discord server.
The tournament will initially allow 24 players to sign up. Any signups after 28 players will be placed on a waitlist. The organisers may increase the 28 player cap if required at any time prior to Jan 2nd (This will be announced.)
Participation in the tournament will only be confirmed when a player confirms their attendance via email/discord starting 2nd of January (reminder emails/announcements will be set)
If a player does not respond to the organisers by the deadline their spot in the tournament will be offered to the next player on the waitlist.
If a player can not attend the tournament, they are required to provide the organisers with notice IN ADVANCE. If a player does not turn up on the day without notice, the organisers may refuse to allow them to register for future ARMA tournaments.
