The qualification of Australian players for the 2028 World Riichi Championship will be conducted via a two-tier system consisting of a series of Open Qualifiers followed by the ARMA Invitational 2028.

Open Qualifiers will be held during the Open Qualification Period between the dates of January 1, 2026 and November 30, 2027.

The ARMA Invitational will be held some time in the period of December, 2027 to January, 2028. The Invitational will host 24 players: the top 20 players from the QP system will be invited, along with 4 players from the Australian Riichi Mahjong League (AusRML).
